Museum of Knowledge – bridging Le Corbusian heritage with security

The Chandigarh Urban Lab believes that whether the Governor’s Palace or the Museum of Knowledge is built, the most important aspect to completing the Capitol Complex is to restore civic access to the main plaza while acknowledging the needs for security. The site of the Museum of Knowledge offers a unique opportunity to address this challenge. A sunken plaza with full pedestrian access and parking space allows for public space in the Capitol Complex while maintaining a separation between public and government functions for security. This proposal consists of three components: The PLAZA, the VISITORS’ CENTER and the MUSEUM OF KNOWLEDGE.
