Manimajra Plan. The open space from MHC Chowk till the Rly line, along the C’garh-kalka road has been shown as part of green belt & space for a bus station. The length & width of the green belt or that of the bus station has not been specified.
This space is uneven, full of muck 7 refuge, yet it is often used by the children to play games like cricket.I had forwarded a plan for the development of this area to three successive Administrators during the last 5-7 years. My proposal was also published in HT Chandigarh Live dt 17 Dec,2007. I have recommended locating a few play grounds for the young & a park for the senior citizens as also a picnic spot for the residents of Chandigarh in erstwhile Durga nursery area.
I am prepared to give a presentation on my proposal with approx financial costs & the time plot. The area can be developed within 2-3 years & made use of.As on date it is full of grass, human & animal shit & refuge. It also emits a foul smell.
The area lies west of C’garh-Kalka rd ,opposite Kala Gram & the Rly TA Bn.

    To,
    The Chief Architect

    Sub:- Master Plan 2031

    Sir
Our association representing about sixteen hundred tenant entrepreneurs working from rented premises, in the existing industrial area Phase-I and II,” would like to bring to your kind notice the following points which may kindly be incorporated in the above said master plan:-

    1. We deeply appreciate that are often repeated request for flatted factories has been incorporated in the Master Plan in 14.5 acres

    2. But we strongly object to the area allotted to the factories out of 153 acres as it is less than 10% of the total. To justify the name Industrial Area Phase-III we request you to allot 85% area for factories as more than 85% industrial activity in the existing industrial area Ph I and II is being carried on by tenant Entrepreneurs.

    3. Any members of our association are self employed operating very small and micro unites, working alone or with 2 to 3 workers. These unites should also be incorporated in the master plan for which a proper survey should be carried out for which a joint team of industries department and our association had been constituted in 2009 by the then honorable Deputy Commissioner , Chandigarh. These small and micro units deserve to get their share in Industrial Area Phase III as even the honorable Prime Minister has called them the back bone of Indian Industry.

    4. It may kindly be noted that these entrepreneurs are also and handsomely contributing revenue in the form of central and state taxes.

    5. They are also employing thousands of skilled and unskilled workers who may be rendered jobless and homeless If they are not adjusted in the upcoming industrial area phase-III. Such large scale unemployment could also unleash, A crime wave beyond imagination in the city beautiful. These hunger starved people could be an additional load on the forth coming newly introduce Food Security Bill 2013

    6. Big ware houses should not be allotted land in Industrial Area Phase-III an only small ware houses which already exist in the I.A. Phase-I and II should be considered as there is very limited area in Industrial Area Phase-III Chandigarh.

    7. We request you to kindly incorporate our suggestions by reserving 85% area for industry in the upcoming Industrial Area Phase-III, Chandigarh. We would be grately obliged if your good self would intimate us about the changes being made in the above said master plan.

    Thanking you,

    Yours sincerely

    Sanjeev Sagar
    President
Chandigarh Industrial Area Tenant Association ( Regd.)
    dt 14-8-2013
